BIJOU THEATRE, WOONSOCKET, R.I. REPORT OF SHOW, MONDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 1916. GUY BARTLETT, BLACKFACE COMEDIAN, 18 MIN. (1). Some of his material is a bit time-worn, but it kept the laughter quite continuous, and the applause would indicate quite a success. He has been here too many times and there were many who remembered this fact. HORACE WRIGHT & RENE DIETRICH: SONGS, LADY AND MAN, 18 MIN. (1). Positively the finest lady and man duo ever seen here. Sing they certainly can, and their programme is a most excellent one. A delicious vein of humour, just the right added touch to give it 'that something different' tinge helps in making a truly successful offering. PAUL DULZELL & CO. SKETCH, 3 MEN, 16 MIN. FULL STAGE, SPECIAL SET. Well-written and excedingly capably acted sketch, the audience receiving it with better spirit than any playlet presented here for a long, long time. In view of the town's antipathy to sketches in general, the reception of this one was most gratifying. [W. E. Parmenter?] Mgr. REPORT OF SHOW MONDAY FEBRUARY 14, 1916. THE WARTANOS: JUGGLERS, 12 MINUTES, FULL STAGE, LADY & MAN. Good act, much of their work being strikingly original and accomplished in a clever manner. FRANK GARFIELD: SINGING & TALKING COMEDIAN, 12 MINUTES (1) Fair act, obtaining a few scattered laughs with material heard often before. VICTOR'S MUSICAL MELANGE: 16 PEOPLE, SIX SPECIAL DROPS; 29 MINUTES. Duplicate their previous success here, with a program of timely selections, and a display of new and attractive stage effects; the whole affair being heartily received. [W. E. Parmenter?] Manager.
