H. T. JORDAN PHILADELPHIA SHOW FEB. 14, 1916 SELIG TRIBUNE. 14 min. Fair selection of pictures LOHSE & STERLING. 8 min. Man and woman in a fast routine of tricks on the trapeze. Do nothing sensational but work fast and supplied a good opening act. HARRIS & MANION. 14 min. Two men, one straight and one character makeup. Open with some comedy talk and finish with several songs. Scored a big hit with their singing, finishing strong. JED & ETHEL DOOLEY. 13 min. Young man and girl who do a bit of dancing, fancy bicycle-riding and lariat-tossing, the man using chatter for comedy purposes. Did very well. FARBER GIRLS. 22 min. These two girls put over a tremendous hit with their comedy songs. They did five numbers, all of them new and every one scoring individually. They could have continued indefinitely, being forced to take several bows at the finish. JOSEPH E. BERNARD & CO. 19 min. A new comedy sketch called "Who Is She." Two characters are employed, a woman supporting Mr. Bernard. It contains a new theme and kept the audience laughing from start to finish, closing to a strong hand. CHARLES OLCOTT. 19 min. In an original travesty called "A Comic Opera in Ten Minutes." This young fellow at the piano was a big applause hit. He followed his travesty with a burlesque piano number that left the audience applauding several minutes. As an encore bit, he did a comedy recitation that brought him more laughs and an extra hand of applause. ELSIE JANIS. 23 min. For her return as a vaudeville star, this little artiste registered an emphatic hit. She did six songs with her imitations and used an impersonation of Frank Tinney. Closed her act with a dance and used an extra impersonation for her encore bit. Each was greeted with hearty applause and she was forced to take several curtain calls. KRAMER & MORTON. 16 min. These two boys have a lot of new material and following several big hits, scored solidly, keeping the laughs going steadily. They have a new Jewish bit for a finish that was a scream. HENRIETTE DE SERRIS. 15 min. A very beautiful posing act, probably the best of its kind we have ever played. The detail and coloring are superb and the work of the models is down to the finest point of the art. The act held the audience seated and was liberally applauded. GENERAL REMARKS. One of the best applause-winning shows we have had in a long time. Plenty of comedy and variety, playing to an even balance from start to finish.
