BIJOU THEATRE, WOONSOCKET, R.I. REPORT OF SHOW, THURSDAY, FEB. 24, 1916. ISABELLE FREEMAN & CO: COMEDY SKETCH, 1 LADY, 3 MEN. 18 MIN. C.D.F. A poor sketch, poorly written, poorly acted, met with a poor reception, and is positively the poorest thing in the sketch line yet seen here, and it must be remembered that we have had 'some' sketches here. WAIVA CUMMINGS: SONGS, 13 MIN. (1). Songs mostly new, in rather a pleasing voice, received a ripple of applause, and the offering just barely 'goes'. BILLY BOUNCER'S CIRCUS; 4 MEN, 2 BEING 'PLANTS'. 17 MIN. FULL STAGE. SPEC. SET. Trampoline clown tumbling by the principal is rather clever, but the real success of the act may be attributed to the grotesquely funny antics of the 'committee', this stuff always being sure of plenty of laughter, of which, this act gets a goodly quantity. BIJOU THEATRE, WOONSOCKET, R.I. REPORT OF SHOW, MONDAY, FEBRUARY 28, 1916. The FAYNES: CONTORTION FEATS AND VOCAL SELECTIONS, LADY & MAN, 10 MIN. FULL STAGE, SPEC. SET. Lady renders one or two vocal selections that are fair, but it is the contortionistic work by the man which makes the act the success which it undeniably is. One of his tricks in particularly is little short of amazing. JOHNNY NEFF: COMEDIAN, 13 MIN. (1). A good line of comedy, for the most part new, produces a goodly quantity of laughter, and his offering is quite well received. ERNEST EVANS & CO: TERPSICHOREAN SPECIALTY, 9 LADIES, 1 MAN. 17 MIN. FULL STAGE, SPEC. SET. A big 'flash' and will prove successful here where they always take kindly to an act great in numerical strength; but in this case there is something more than mere quantity, quality being much in evidence in many of the dancing numbers executed by this captivating, and attractive bevy of femininity. Far and away, the best 'girl' act yet seen here, not forgetting Mr. Evans himself, who contributes much toward the success of the offering.
