184 REPORT ON KEITH'S BOSTON SHOW week of JULY 3rd - 1916 R.G.Larsen THE [LANNEDS?] 13 minutes fs. Special drop. Man and woman in comedy bicycle act. Maan dresses as tramp, woman strips to black tights. God set of the kind. Acceptable opener. ADELINE FRANCIS 14 minutes in one. Olio drop. Just about filled the spot, and that's all. [ILLEGIBLE] [ILLEGIBLE] [ILLEGIBLE] and HARRY [ILLEGIBLE] 17 minutes open in one close in fs. Special scenes. A Chinese boy and girl in a series of songs and dances in a beautiful stage setting. The singing does not amount to much, but the society dancing, closing with a cakewalk, woke things upin great shape. They put over a good-sized hit. [KENNEY? AND HOLLIS?] 19 minutes in one. Special drop. These two Boston boys have played everything in town. In spite of this, they put over one of the hits of the show. [BAHZAC?]'S CIRCUS 10 minutes fs. Garden. Trained ponies and unrideable mule. The comedy work with the mule is the best part of the act. Got a lot of laughs. JOHN AND [ILLEGIBLE] [ILLEGIBLE] 20 minutes open and close in one. Draw off to fs. Street and Olio drops and [CDF?] about the same set with some new songs, gags and piano selections. Ran Kenney and Hollis a close race for the applause honors of the show. THOMAS A. [ILLEGIBLE] and CO in "The Christmas Letter." 20 minutes fs. Plain [che..ber?]. Mr Wise worked under difficulties to-day. His baggage had not arrived at a late hour Monday night, and he was obliged to play both performances Monday minus costumes and scenery. The sketch is a pretty little drama of life in the one night stands. There was hardly a dry eye in the house when the curtain fell. Closed to a strong hand. But the fact remains that they audience in this house do not care for dramatic sketches, and they got a bit restless during the progress of the set. LOUISE DRESSER 15 minutes in one. O.P.Drapery. Miss Dresser's trunk is also somewhere between New York and Boston, and she was obliged to go on Monday in street clothes. Her songs are all new to Boston, and she put over a solid hit. PAUL, LEVAN AND DOBBS 5 minutes fs. C.D.?. Very fast tumbling set with three men. Considerable comedy, and a good closer. CUTS: John Burke - "My God" and derogatory references to President Wilson and ex-President Roosevelt. His reference to the latter as a "bull-sheeter" was roundly hissed Monday.
