REPORT on BOSTON SHOW WEEK of AUGUST 7th '16. (R. G. Larsen.) LIEUT. ELDRIDGE 13 minutes f.s. Special set. Open or close in one, picture sheet, as desired, with descriptive talk on mexico. This man was brought in to-day to replace Eva Taylor, who disappointed. His talk is very timely, and he filled the spot acceptably. DUPREE and DUPREE 9 minutes f.s. Special Set. Wellknown bicycle act with some difficult tricks. Went over first-rate. ADELAIDE BOOTHBY and CHARLES EVERDEAN 18 minutes in one. O.P. Drapery. Good comedy sing and piano act in one. "Becky At The Movies" and the burlesque illustrated song, "When the Onion Crop is Gathered, Mabel Mine," used by Dick Lynch in "More Sinned Against Than Usual," are decided hits. Could go farther down. BERT MELROSE 18 minutes f.s. Horizon drop. Melrose has discarded his chalk-face makeup, and works straight. He still retains the kilts. A laughing hit. WILLIE SOLAR 10 minutes in one. Olio Drop. This man was one of the hits of the show. His songs are mostly very old, but he gets them over. Closed to a strong hand with his Russian dancing. FRANCES NORDSTROM and WILLIAM PINKHAM in "All Wrong" 13 minutes. F.S. Dark interior. A comedy sketch with a bit of dramatics and a surprise finish. They reached Boston Monday night just in time to close the show. A good act, well played, and went over first rate. RONAIR, WARD and FARRON 17 minutes in one. Special Drop. Just a fair act. The saving feature is the singing of one man, who possesses a very high and pleasing voice. Would like to change them with Boothby and Everdean, but that would bring the two singing and piano acts on the bill together. TEMPEST and SUNSHINE 13 minutes f.s. Music room. These girls have not appeared here in several years. Most of their songs are new and original. They put them over in great shape. A hit. CLARKE and VERDI 18 minutes in one. Street drop. Held this spot in good shape with about the same act they have given us on previous visits. FOLIES D'AMOUR 9 minutes f.s. Special drop. A beautiful posing act with lantern slides. The woman is fully draped, and the slides both beautiful and artistic. Nothing in this act to which anyone might take offense. A splendid closing novelty. CUTS: Dupree and Dupree - business of slapping lady on thigh. Ronair, Ward & Farron - "God" and "Damn."
