REPORT ON PROVIDENCE SHOW, WEEK of SEPTEMBER 11, 1916. CHARLES LOVENBERG, Manager. The bill is a most satisfactory one, giving the season a very good start, although the outlook in the forenoon was that we might go to pieces because of the non-appearance of HALLIGAN & SYKES,-through Miss Syke's illness - and the absence of DUPREE & DUPREE - through, what I understand, was a fit of bad temper. Muller & Muller Hoop-rollers and Jugglers. Arrived in time for the night performance, replacing Dupree & Dupree. A good act of the regulation kind. Very Speedy. Were well received. 9 Minutes Full Stage. Antrim & Vale Singing, dancing, and whistling imitations. Bright lively act that gave thorough satisfaction. 17 Minutes In One. Howard Scotch Ventriloquist. Well known act that repeated its former success, securing many laughs. 17 Minutes Full Stage. Can close In One. "Tango Shoes" If any act in the bill showed a tendency to weakness, it was this one. Here is a corking good idea gone wrong through cheap methods of presentation. The dancing of the two old men got good applause, and they got strong laughs at the finish, but it dragged greatly in spots. 20 Minutes Opens 15 Minutes In One, Closes in 5 Minutes Full Stage. Moore & Haager Drawn in from Pawtucket to replace Halligan & Sykes. Nice, classy, comedy singing act that went very well indeed. 19 Minutes In One. "A Breath Of Old Virginia" A very pretty sketch, well played, and which went very well with the audience in spite of the very shabby production given it by Mr. Hart who should be made to repaint his scenery before the act goes much further. 21 Minutes Full Stage. Dyer & Fay Assisted by a very attractive young woman who is not billed. Exceedingly funny two-men-talking-act. A lot of new bright material which they get over splendidly. A great big laughing hit. 26 Minutes In One. The Three Ankers Attractive hand balancing act by two men and a woman. Well dressed, and presented in a showmanlike manner. 10 Minutes Full Stage. Motion Pictures O. K. The following are cuts made in the show: Antrim & Vale Lady to wear stockings or tights instead of bare legs. Vaccination joke Howard Son-of-a-gun Dyer & Faye The song, "I Used to be a Boarder Myself"
