BOSTON SHOW REPORT WEEK of SEPTEMBER 18th '16 (R. G. Larsen) LOUIS STONE 8 minutes f.s. C.D.F. Upside-down dancer. This man dances while standing on his head and walking on his hands. The feature is a dance while suspended upside down from a revolving chandelier. Acceptable opener. BUDD FAGG and JULIA WHITE in "Africanology" 14 minutes in one. Street Drop. Hardly up to big-time standard. Passed away quietly. BAYONNE WHIPPLE and WALTER HUSTON in "SPOOKS" 17 minutes f.s. Special Set. The show started here. This is the second appearance of the act, but it went over in good shape. DOROTHY GRANVILLE 19 minutes in one. Special Drapery. A single woman with a pianist and classy stage setting. Miss Granville sang four songs, and went over first-rate. MAY TULLY'S "WORLD DANCERS" with EMILIE LEA and TOM DINGLE 30 minutes f.s. Special Draperies. This is a big, spectacular dancing act with twelve people. We advertised it heavily, and the act went over very strong. ARTHUR DEAGON 25 minutes in one and two. Special drop. The best act Deagon has ever given us. One number is done with special scene. The hit of the show. FRANKLYN ARDELL and CO in "The Wife Saver" 18 minutes f.s. Office interior. This is a funny farce. Ardell gets all there is out of it. A laughing hit. FRED WHITFIELD and MARIE IRELAND 17 minutes in one. Special Drop. This act changed places with Arthur Deagon Monday night. In the afternoon they followed the World Dancers, and Dingle's dancing killed the eccentric dancing of Miss Ireland and Lew Murdock. Monday night, separated from the other dancers, they put over a comedy hit, holding the spot in good shape. FIVE KITAMURA JAPS 10 minutes f.s. Special Set. A big, flashy risley act that made a splendid closer. CUTS FAGG and WHITE - gags about "Too much of a gentleman to look under the table to see what the ladies had on" Also "Do you kick the football much," with reference to development of lady's legs. WHIPPLE and HUSTON - gag about "No more chance than a bow-legged girl in the town she was raised." DOROTHY GRANVILLE - Entire "Shop Girl" song and line, "If they are no truer to their country than they are to their wives, Heaven help the U.S.A."
