WEEK of OCT. 30th '16 ---- BOSTON SHOW REPORT ---- R. G. Larsen. GUZMANI TRIO 6 minutes full stage. Garden scene. Equilibrists and ball rollers. Good opening act. LOU LOCKETT and JACK WALDRON 11 minutes in one. Street Drop. This two-man act has appeared here several times before, but they went over first-rate in this spot. JACK W. CONLY and MARGARET WEBB 19 minutes full stage. C.D.F. Short close in one. Olio Drop. Doing their new act, "A Musical Mix-Up," along somewhat the same lines as the old one, with comedy, singing and trick piano playing and clowning by Conly. A lively act that went over in good shape. PAGE, HACK and MACK 10 minutes full stage. C.D.F. Two men and one girl in hand-to- hand balancing and contortionist work. The work is clean, done in a thoroughly showmanlike manner, and they held the interest every minute. Closed strong. CARL BYAL and DORA EARLY 13 minutes in one. Olio Drop. Doing their new act, "A Scotch High-Ball." A good comedy turn, with some singing and plenty of life. Both work in Scotch kilts, the woman comedy, the man straight. Full of ginger, and scored quite a hit. MRS. GENE HUGHES and CO in "GOWNS" 23 minutes full stage. Dark tapestry interior. First time here in her new act. The laughing hit of the show. RAE ELEANOR BALL 18 minutes in one. Special drop. Miss Ball has brightened up her turn with a beautiful new blue and white drapery. She went over very big. In fact, at the evening performance, Miss Ball was the applause hit of the show. "THE FOUR HUSBANDS" with RAY RAYMOND and FLORENCE BAIN and COMPANY of 30 people. 48 minutes full stage. Special set. The biggest and classiest musical comedy we have ever played. Held the audience seated to the finish, and went over strong. The production and dresses are beautiful, the comedy and music thoroughly up to standard. A first-class ensemble act. CUTS Byal and Early - Eliminate entire line, "If we're not married, that minister played me an awful dirty trick." Also business by woman of bending over with back towards audience, while wearing kilts. Lockett and Waldron - Passing remarks about audience while dancing. Mrs. Gene Hughes - Expressions "Oh, God," and "Honest to God." COMMENT Every act in this show is a good one, and fully up to big-time standard. The show moves right along, at a fast clip, with plenty of comedy, and is almost as good as the bill we had last week, which was town talk.
