REPORT ON PROVIDENCE SHOW, WEEK of NOVEMBER 6, 1916.

The bill this week does not play up as strong as it looks on paper. In fact, I would call the show only fair and not worth nearly what it costs.

Archie Onri & Dolly
In an act of rapid painting, juggling et cetera. Fair opening act. 13 Minutes Full Stage.
Kirby & Rome
Two men in an eccentric dancing specialty who are quite clever, but the work is very quiet and following the quietness of the preceeding act did not go as well as it seems it ought to have. 7 Minutes In One.
Dorothy Granville
Very clever girl with some good material, but also lacks the punch. 18 Minutes In One.
George Kelly & Co.
Very interesting playlet with a very good moral but does not contain the comedy that I expected from what I have been told. There are no particularly big laughs, and the greater part of the sketch is treated very seriously by the actors. If it was played in a more farcical style, I think the result would be better for vaudeville. 20 Minutes Full Stage.
Jack Gardner
Mr. Gardner landed us the first real punch of the performance. He has a very good act, and was very well received. 21 Minutes In One.
Daisy Jean
Miss Jean's act has been described from other houses. It is only necessary to say that she did very well indeed. 16 Minutes Full Stage.
Lloyd & Britt
When I played these boys before I had them in an earlier spot and they went very well. In the first performance of this week they did not do so well, probably due to the fact that while they are good enough in the middle of the show, they are not strong enough for this position. 15 Minutes In One.
America First
A lot of very good motion pictures, very effective scenery, a big flash in the way of costumes and a lot of "give me your kind applause", but very little of merit of intrinsic value in the act. There is no good singing, no good music, or anything that one could go out and say was well performed. To be worth the money that they are asking, the act should be entirely reconstructed. 32 Minutes Full Stage.
