AMAZING MYSTERY FUNNIES will soon issue out a new compainion magazine THE AMAZING MAN.....The lastest ADVENTURE NOVELS features a pip of a science fantasy short story by L Ron Hubbard. (about adventure of a beetle.) ___________________ UNKNOWN TO PRINT POETRY !!!!!! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Campbell breaks the first of fantastic poetry in the regular run of fantasy mags by publishing a full page poem in a future issue of UNKNOWN. The poem is by a author new to fantasy. I say new because James Beard also has a story coming up in either ASTOUNDING or UNKNOWN. Campbell says: "I printed the poem because it's one of the finest of its type I've ever seen." "I'm in the market for full page poems for UNKNOWN ONLY! They must be exceptionally good." The last time any fantasy mag outside of Weird Tales ran poetry was in AMAZING STORIES in 1937. Let's hope this preludes any influx of poetry in fantasy magazines. They need it! __________________ MAKE A MILLION MORT! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . That's what they'll be calling Mort Weisinger a year or so from today. Mort has invented a clever game called MOVIE MILLIONS. Slick magazines have already carried full page ads of this game. Walter Winchell has mentioned this game in his column. The idea of the game is to enable the movie fan to make his own movie by use of various devices which Mort has "brainstormed". It has already enjoyed enviable success. Witness Mort's new Buick.Experts say the game may become a popular rage. If so, don't forget your old pals Mort. _________________ A YEAR AGO THIS WEEK . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . FIVE MEMBERS OF FAPA WIN LAUREATE AWARDS. Virgil Finlay plans to take a trip to the west coast. A. Merritt is seriously considering a "Northwest Smith" novel by C L Moore for publication in "AMERICAN WEELY."
