S-F-WAP NO SET DATE-- ALL THE STF THAT'S FIT TO SWAP" 3 a copy, 9/25^ R.J. Gaulin, "Dipso" Editor. Mimeo'ed & pubbed at 1817 East 33 St., Brooklyn 10, N.Y. Published when there R enuf swaps. Vol. 1, No. 1. "INTRODUCTIONS" This is the first issue of a rather new idea in fandom, and fanzines. Granted, there have been swapzines before, but not of this type. The other swapzines in the past would trade anything for anything else. Not so here. Stfen have often traded their mags and s-f artwork with one another. Every fan has at one time or another traded a book or zine. But, there has never been an established organ for this barter. Here is that organ. It's columns are open to all members of fandom who wish to make offers for trades. This first ish is free, but only so to introduce muh idea to fandom (this may also introduce my rather inept stencilling and spelling) in general. The first idea was to make this a cardzine, but lack of space to print addresses of the fans slowed it down a bit. Then a dear old lady (Bless her!) sold me this mimeo. I can only keep this fmz running as long as there is sufficient. (Now, !here a fine job of uphill stencilling lays!) demand sufficient material. Ah, Yes. The material's the thing! ...... I can't run at much of a loss becoz I haven't the mazuma of time. Anybody who has a sub and does not renew it in time after notice, will lose the issues between the lapse and renewing of the sub. If anything special pops up right after an issue a free post card will be sent out (I hope there won't be many special cards). You never can tell what you may see in these pages, so be sure that you get all the issues Absolutely no articles will be pubbed that have to do with anything else but s—f or fantasy articles. All offers will be printed in the order that they were received. All offers that are left over from one issue will be printed in the next or on a card. There will probably be noe leftovers tho, as I will print on two sides if needs be. Every offer must-be- accompanied by some idea of what the swapper wants. Ex: Lst-ish; "skylark Valeron" dec. '34, ASF. Wanted: 2nd ish of "Triplanetary" by EESmith; AStories. The order may also be ambigious. Ex: Will trade any back issue fanzines, any mag. WDunkelburger and EEEvans that this wuz a pretty good idea, and I hope you do too. As much first bid in actifanity, I also hope it goes over the way that it's intended to. Later on I may pub another fanzine, but this is rather indefinite. By the by, the addresses of all persons submitting an offer must appear so that I can pub them on the sheet. Any offers not accompanyed by either address or expectancy in trade, will be vetoed and will find their way into the waste-basket. And the sender will not be notified of such action, either. I admit that some of these terms are rather drastic, but it is an effort to keep my cellar clean, and not cluttered up paper... "Dipso" To: E.E. Evans 628 So.
