"FAN" GAB Well, here goes for a last minute round up direct on the stencil without even edges or rewriting. It is only about two hours until this issue will be complete and in the mail. I hope you like the contents of this issue. The Cover was lifted from a college magazine but was done by my old chum from North American Aviation - Dough Heyes - readers of some of my fan-mags in the past will remember some of Doug's work done especially for me. I picked the cover for several reasons - some of them obvious but the main reason is that it was somewhat a reminder of Russ Hodgkin's Sweetness and Light. As you will no doubt recall the similarity of ideas. We are certainly glad to see Russ back in the fold and to see him active in the local club. I've been trying to get Russ to revive "SandL" but I get a few rather weak excuses for an answer BUT I'll bet if youse guys and gals were to write him (c/o my address) and prod him a bit I wouldn't be a bit surprised if our mail boxes weren't graced? with a copy of his well likeed mag. Howz about it? HUH? Issue #7 of "FAN" is completely stenciled and needs only to be mimeographed so look for it soon. What are the contents? - Well, I'll tell you. It is 22 pages of reprints of articles on printing that have appeared in the past several years in the Various APA's and is a complete guide book on how to go about printing. Almost any question you might want to ask about printing is in this informative little volume. Because of the fact that the first 4 issues are exhausted of my mag "FAN" I cannot accept any further single orders. ONLY SUBSCRIPTIONS WILL BE FILLED. This is necessary as I want to cut down on my mimeographing costs by reducing the amount of copies run off. There are only 125 copies of this issue being run off and the printing book drops to 1oo copies. So subscribe now if you want to continue receiving "FAN". To make it a little easier for those in school and not so flush I will accept 50 cent subscriptions now. I believe, but cannot promise exactly, that each issue after this will be 10 cents each. 50 cent subscriptions will guarantee your receiving "FAN" and $1.00 subs will credit you with $1.1o on the books. so, SUBSCRIBE NOW. Yes we do want to exchange and do send out a few complimentary copies;. YOUR reason for receiving this is listed below.
