Aug 5, 1944 Dear Folks, First of all I'll tell you where I'm at and why. I'm in Dothan at the USO. I just got through seeing Bill Thompson off on his bus back to Fort Benning. It was good to see him. He and a friend of his came last evening and I met them at the bus. We later went to a show and then out to camp. I fixed them up with a bed. Today we came back to town and messed around. We ran onto Bill McDonald and that bunch so we had quite a convention. They went to the show and I took the fellows to the bus station I'm supposed to meet them at a cafe in a little while. First time I'd seen them for some time so it was a very good
