Aug 5, 1945 My Dearest Evelyn, Darling, I just finished reading your last letter over again for about the tenth time today. It's the swellest letter I have ever received. All your letters are fine, but this was exceptional. It was the one wanting to tell our folks of our happiness and plans. Honey, its funny how happy a few words can make a person. Darn it honey, I'm so happy I'm about to burst. I love you so much Evelyn. I have already written my folks today telling them about us. I mentioned it to them last week when I wrote about the picture, but I wrote two pages this time. I told them that I loved you very much and that we were making plans for the future. I told them you were telling your folks also, but no one else that I knew of. I love you very much and I did my best to explain how things were with us. Just for fun I added that Dad could give your Dad a cigar. I'm sure they will be as happy as I am myself. Honey, I would sort of like to be home when we make an announcement.
