Honey, I love you very much and when I think that there is a chance of getting home soon I can hardly control myself. Just heard the news and Russia has declared war on Japan. Golly honey, things are looking swell. That with this new bomb should help the Japs make up their minds. Honey, I realize this is terribly short, but I want to work on my ankle before I go to bed so I'd better get at it. Hope you don't mind too much. There isn't much else to write anyway. You know I love you and I guess that is the most important thing. I'm going to remind you again anyway. I love you Evelyn, more than you will ever know. Night honey, be dreaming about you. All My Love, Carroll
