So you got rid of "Old Liz"? [paper missing] member how you girls traveled and especially how Ruth Carris drove. Darling, they just came out with some new dope on when we might get home. They announced that all troops with the exception of occupation army and some Ocean Port troops would be home by the end of the year. Honey, if I don't catch one of those I should get home this winter. Better pray like mad darling cuz it could mean an awful lot to us. I hate to keep building up our hopes one day and knock them down the nex [paper missing] trying to keep up with the n [paper missing] Don't have anything to do tonight so I may break all the rules and go to the second show in as many nights. Pass the time anyway and it looks like I'll have plenty of it to pass. Gee whiz!
