[Letterhead] May 23, 1943 3:00 P.M. Dearest Mom,- It looks like I owe you a letter for sure, now. Having received 2 of them from you in the last few days. We're still doing business in the same old hum-drum way here. So there's hardly anything to write about. It has just poured down rain in buckets full today. Regular cloudburst at times. It's really very dark and dismal outside today. We were supposed to go out and set up our tents, and put our equipment in them, in readiness for the full field inspection tomorrow.
