As the alchemist sees it lew Martin Up to now, Alchemist has been very irregular and inconsistant. This, we believe, is our main fault and henceforth will attempt to correct it. We have experimented with various types of mediums and done considerable jumping between publication dates. Now it is all ironed out. We will be monthly -- regular and on time. Our policy is rather loose, but we are going to minimize on humor and slap stick stuff. Elaborate on interesting and more or less controversial subjects such as The Philosophical Novels of Olaf Stapledon in last issue, and Astounding: Top Hole, but High Hat in this issue. Dead End also fits in this category. We will try to give you good art, and ocassionally special items such as the lovely picture by Hunt in this number. Verse, if good, shall frequent our pages. We also want a number of lighter vein articles such as Forrst J. Ackerman's interview with Margaret Brundage to appear next month, The Martian Classics, etc. All fans having good articles and ideas are encourages to send them. The Weird angle is not neglected deliberately, it is because so little material of this line is available. Articles and stories like the following are very much desired. The Sorcerer (Hansen) in #1 Alchemist, Have You Read Those Books? (Lowndes) #3 Al, Notes On Vombis (Lowndes) in #? Spaceways, and There May Be Werewolves (Wellman) in the latest Sun Spots. Well, there is our policy, very sketchily and inadequate because of space allowances. Anything you have we will be interested in seeing. (over)
