ALCHEMIST 35 THE BOOK OF THE DAMNED is rapidly rising in value, mainly because of it's increasing scarcity. Recently came across a copy in a collector's possession and examined it with much interest. Was informed that he had received an offer of $12.50 for it. Contrary to almost universal belief is the fact that Charles Fort's first book was not the above mentioned volume, but a novel! The title of which was "The Outcast Manufacturers". This book, published in 1909, evidently escaped popular notice because it was published before Fort gained attention by his attacks on science. As far as can be ascertained, there is only one copy in the possession of any fantasy collector. Enough data to fill several books was left when Fort died. These notes are published regularly in the FORTEAN magazine (a modern version of Grimm's Fairy Tales). ### HAVE YOU READ THE DAMN THING? If not, you've missed the screwiest thing that a fan was every asked to squander a dime on. An old time, and somewhat disgusted fan, the founder of IMAGINATION!, having suffered in silence for a number of years, lets off his steam on the delightful and satrical publication. Included in the first issue: "IS ACKERMAN A SCHIZOPHRENATIC?" by Carlton Fassbeinder, Ps. D. "ASSAILING THE PRO-SCIENTISTS" by Damn Knight "THE LAST MAN" by Ray Bradbury * * * * * * * * Join the suckers and send a dime to T. Bruce Yerke Box 6475 Metro Sta. Los Angeles, California
