JANUARY 5 1942. K. up at 11 - she was up till 12 getting Miss Zillier, whose train was late. Washed. Napped. Mr. + Mrs. Ed Day called. Took Sig back to dorm. -12° We took down Christmas tree. 1943. Colder. Polished silver. Wrote Wayne W., note to Doris who has had bronchitis Frank, + long letter to Dora. Fine Woman's Club mtg. Took Mrs. Roberts. Mrs. Ruth Dietz talked of Alaska. Shoveled 3 ft. of snow snow plow piled up. 1944. After getting Frank off at 7, went back to bed till 8:45. Snowed all forenoon. Walked to mailbox and to Zeigler's Churned ironed, run tuck in my new pale blue slip + a pink one. Wrote Cousin Anna Started sewing "Trip Around World" quilt " " Danby Folk - a Danish book. 1945. Scrubbed bathroom, washed some windows. Cut out checked dress for Dorothy Bolin. Made lemon pie from Cal. lemons. Got box from Signe - 12 bronze coasters + set of 7 doilies. Hilda here for supper. 1946. At airport 7:30-12. Served 308, with Mrs Priest. Almost had a wrangle with a colonel enroute to Germany: "We would be better off if THAT MAN Roosevelt had never been born" Mild, so washed living room windows outside.
