JANUARY 12 1942. Mild day - Baked gingerbread and bread from Brandt's sorghum, and cake for Mrs. Wermuth's birthday party. Puttied storm window. Attended Clara Britton's funeral. 1943 -6° Ironed, shoveled snow by road then snow plow filled it- I asked them to shovel it out and they did- Pauline and I went to library board mtg. I learned about book-mending. Ripped up Hans' sharkskin coat in eve. 1944 Frank still has flu. Copied news for Darleen- then missed mail carrier. Made out annual report of SLC of WSCS for Conf. Chm, Mrs. Atkins. Sent out Prayer Calendars. Walked to Buss' in AM 1945 (Telegram from Frank yesterday his furlough canceled) Worked on braided rug, did some cleaning, slept an hr in P.M. Hilda here in eve. Han's back to work. 1946 Red Cross Motor Corps station wagon waiting for me at 7:10 for a change - Had a 2 star general for customer at canteen. Took nap, did some cleaning, marketing, writing.
