JANUARY 15 1942. Sunny. Mopped, Washed 5 windows outside, sent Amanda box of old woolens for hooked rugs. Called on Mrs. [Baix?] and Mrs. Gunnison. Won 1st prize in music memory contest at Mother's Club. Lunch in basement. Wrote Mary [Leffler?]. 1943. Cold. Mrs. Ben Henkel and Hazel Z here for lunch. Had frozen peas, beets, and strawberries- gave Sophia 3 cactuses- some snow in late P.M. 1944. Slept nearly 9 hours! Frank has stiff neck so didn't get up as expected. I cut out and began sewing blue, red, white seersucker house dress. Alice here to begin 4H Sec. book. To Middleton in eve with Zeigler's again- to library. 1945. We washed - I hung towels outside. My ecsema quite a bit better. Cut out blue crepe nightshirt for Hans (material bought in Madison.) 3° 1946 Ironed, made another sunsuit pattern Wrote 3 letters, In eve Hans and I drove to D.C. SE, called on Koch's, found Jo nearly sick. Showed slides to Wanderlust Travel Club. Dts Pres., Margaret Williamson knows Bernadine Wittenberg!
