JANUARY 18 1942. 81 at S.S. 97 at dinner we Blues served for "Victory dinner" for Reds. S.S. board meeting at 1. Hans took Miss Zillier in and brought Signe out. Was rather tired. We took Sig in and brought Miss Zillier out. 1943. Cold but I washed, inc. Frank's spread, blanket, etc. Baked bread. Took nap. I ripped Han's sharkskin coat. Typed some. In eve K, Z, Pauline, and I to C.R.C. I resigned as sec. We played folk games under Pauline's directions. 44° 1944. Washed. Went to Belleville with Rev. Stanke in P.M. Talked to WSCS on "Are We Marys or Marthas?" Wrote Hans. Arranged for M, C. Comm. mtg. 1945. To Alex. Parked and sent box of rose afghan yarn and noodle soup mix to Signe. Hans got letters from Velma T, Emma Freehling, Mike Kelley, Frank - first letters from him since Christmas and snap Jess Poole took Jan. 1. Hans at Pentagon for shots and State Dept. for passport. Birthday card from Augusts 1946. Went to Dr. Lotoux and got some medicine to relieve terrible itch. Boiled and sunned some of Sig's old uniforms, table linen, etc. Slept to make up hours lost last nite - nearly 3 hours!. Forgot to go to Canteen Mtg. in eve.
