JANUARY 22 1942. Baked bread, did ironing, took nap, (tummy off). At Red Cross benefit card party in town hall in P.M. Score 1220 in 5 games. 22 tables there. At sewing demonstration in eve at school - covered buckle, etc. 1943 Baked raisin brown bread. Shopped in Middleton in AM- 1944. In bed till 9. Cleaned bathroom, made applesauce-rested, 4H girls here for project mtg. Studied basic 7 foods, made menus, played Vita Min Go and other games. 6 girls here. K. came home. Jay Whitson came. We 4 played Anagrams. 31° 40° 1945. We washed and hung all inside. Rained during midday. To Alex. to bank and ordered flowers for Pete Kier in Maq- hospital. Drove to DC: got no encouragement from FEA. personnel director. Got more khaki yarn and Kathryn's trunk. 23° 31° 1946. Washed- hung all in basement. My "hive-like" itch very bad in P.M and night. Finished reading "Brideshead"- sent extract from it to Patter Editor of R.D. Hans finished working for FAO at noon.
