JANUARY 26 1942. Took Kathryn to Annen's 4125 Iroquois Drive, to work for her board. Saw Sig briefly. After I sent Hans letter to Neb. got card he is at Jefferson, Ia. 23 at 4H in school. Mrs. Roberts and Zentner helped. 1943. Baked bread, ironed some. Singer service men came and put new piece in my machine. Took Mrs. Schwenen to Guild. Invited to Book Club party at Daniel's, but didn't feel like going. Wrote Hilda, cards to Adele and Florence. 1944. Did big ironing, baked bread. Very mild. Frank fed our good hive of bees. Hans watered big spruce. Vi skrev dansk Breve til Elna Pedersen. 16° 26° 1945. Kathryn did my shopping again and washed dishes and washed bathroom floor. I made green paisley night shirt for Hans. Started reading Johan Bojer's "Last of the Vikings". Hilda and Geo. Reid here in eve - Hilda knitting on her dad's scarf. 50° 1946. Drove in to 1706 New Hampshire Ave (International Student House) to hear Mrs. Stella Burgess and Dr Sha in UNRRA course. We had dinner at Ho Toy then drove to Likert's, but Mr. and Mrs. not home.
