FEBRUARY 11 1942. Wrote to Florence Riley, Mrs. Stanke, and sent Central Am. writeups in P.F. to Mrs. Showers. Did ironing and mending and lengthened Frank's pajamas 4 inches. Helped Miss Zillier fix her box for box social. Finished reading "As I Remember Him." Airmail from [Marion S?] 1943 -8°. Baked bread. cut out 3 "Sak'n" aprons, sewed 5 snaps on K's red dress and collar. Walked to mailbox. 10° 1944. Got Gloria Rabe to shovel snow at church. I washed a kitchen wall, did some cleaning. Steamed goods for K's suit, massaged Pauline's foot, sewed buttons on my blouse. 40° 53 1945 Another warm sunny day. Stayed in Apt. hoping to hear from Frank - but not really expecting to. K. walked to church - I read "Neils Ebbeson.' Went to Mrs. Grace Rost's for supper. Her mother from Canton, O. there, and Dorothy Bloodgood and mother - "Sarge" here 41° 1946. New Chinese teachers [To?] Winkle and I got another X-ray treatment, and my passport application. Nap. More letter writing Read part of "Mama's Bank Acct" by Kathryn Forbes. Hans not home till 7:30. 6" snow, very sloppy and icy. Took snap of Lincoln Mon. with snow on trees
