FEBRUARY 24 *1942. Ironed. Stamped pair of pillowcases. Wrote Comments Paid taxes, went to Guild, starting embroidery on 1 pillowcase. Met 2 trains & bus - but no Hans. 1943. Baked bread. Signe came for day off. Worked on ration board in P.M & eve, tho not much business. Worked on my seed order. 1944. Awake till 1 because I ate candy - Lovely washday. Even 2 rugs & "flower- garden" quilt dried out doors. Finished using old Singer machine, red dress, a dish towel & plain green sheets. Wrote 2 letters. Mable Nelson & Emily H. 1945 Slept 9 hrs! Sunny. Aired Hans' blue scarf, stored some of his things in K's trunk. Washed living room windows, did machine work on 1-1/2 green dotted danish blouses. Hilda here for supper. Found I can send german dictionary Hans wants when Mrs. Cartwright goes next week. 1946. Slept out by 6. Made apple crisp, wrote MTT, to Frank, Velma, made the Dakota page for our scrapbook. Rainy. Drove to church. Mrs. Gilliam exhibited dresses & sunsuits for the Filipinos in downstairs room.
