FEBRUARY 26
1942. Hans & I went to Madison (twice), got his first bifocal, a deep well electric pump, called on Mrs. Brandt just before he went home from hospital
1943. Knee stiff, but cleaned upstairs. Put new chenille spread on Z's bed. In eve, K & I started fitting black linoleum edge around kitchen.
1944. Made up 4 qts. juice (my last) into jelly. Came out even with last sugar in barrel. Baked bread. Mrs. Diedrich brought d. r. linoleum & table tubs. Cleaned out some desk shelves.
1945. To Red Cross chapterhouse to practise playlet "2 Hours a Day", a Home Service bit. Also got Material for Red + War Fund Drive. Attended Kick. off Rally in Cameron St. U.S.O. in eve. Songs & movie & talks. Baked bread in P.M. Rainy. Got 5 letters & 2 for Hans.
72° 1946 Ironed, made buttonholes, baked a loaf of bread & coffee cake, wrote 4 letters. Ordered a new Spirella from Deone Robe & asked Adele to order my underwear for next winter. Worked on scrapbooks, cut out 3 more sunsuits. Spent 2 hrs. in eve with Mrs. Norberg.
