FEBRUARY 28 1942. After cleaning up house, worked on federal & state income tax schedules. Went in for Kathryn at 1, got pot of azaleas for Miss L's birthday. Worked on house plans with K 1943. 41 at S.S - Tired & stiff. Flapping storm window kept me awake 4-7. I had Frank take it off. 1944. Washed, but only hung a few outside. Washed 2 more rugs. Ironed towels & hdkfs. Baked bread. Sold innerspring mattress to Mrs. Al. Zeigler, 4 chairs to Mrs. Dick. We signed lease with E Wittenburg. Sorted patterns. Hans cleaned cistern, hauled ashes. 1945. More rain & sleet. We washed, & hung in basement. Baked gingerbread. Sent shell ear rings to Zillie. K. & I saw a movie of China & "Wheels over Burma" at church. Hilda- & Geo. Reed - came out at 9. She stayed. 37° 46° Awake from 1 to 4:30. Ach-y all day, so lay around, did a perfect Post crossword puzzle, finished reading "Ox Bow Incident" wrote some letters.
