MARCH 7 1942. Waxed dining room linoleum, scrubbed and painted cellar stairs, baked bread and cookies. got Frank at library. Hans came home at 9 from Albert Lea. 1943 -2 K, Elsie, Z & I went to church. Talked briefly at S.S. on Mme. ChiangKai Chek. New song books at S.S. Took nap in P.M as I was awake — by custom— from 5 AM on! We played Anagrams in eve. Afraid K was getting 3 day measles, but she didn't. 1944. Ironed. Last Women's Club in P.M. Turned over gavel to Mrs. Phillips. Blizzardy & cold. Hans in Madison, had offer to be Co. Agent in Door Co! Hilda phoned from Wash. Can get furnished apt for $79! 1945. We did a small ironing. Drove in for 10 AM Circle A meeting. zone WSCS (Fairfax Co. & Alex). 10:30 & P.M. Mrs. Clarke asked me to give devotions at her circle! 82-1/2 yr. old Mrs. Lauders told about Brazil. First War Fund workers' luncheon. Solicited in eve. 1st letter from Hans for week & card; Wendall Skott Weidmann born 3/2 74°. 1946. I got no mail twice in a row! We get mail twice a day again now. To UNRRA for reading of my vaccination — they call it vaccinoid! I hunted for my nylon material, found some at Lansburg's, for black dress & white blouse. Sorted voluminous material for my tree scrapbook.
