MARCH 19 1942 Up at 6, finished ironing, took Frank to school, took Mrs. Cornwell and Mrs. du Frenne to all day nutrition mtg. at Ag Hall. 500+ there, inc several I knew. Lunch at Hasty Tasty. Took Frank, Jane, Rose [Endres?] + Lowell Busch to de Forest to forensic contest. Frank in extempo. 1943. Sleet turning into 3" snow. We drove to Middleton, went to Madison on bus. Got new hat, went to girls' room. Got Dr. Allen's note asking for my exam. + treatment at Wis Gen Hosp. To Mother's Club in eve. Cub Scout program. 1944. Hans + I walked 3 blocks to see MW Joiner, got his birth certificate, saw Geo. Francois, got 6# Buckhorn butter. Earl + Emma Boyer called on us. Olga's, Oskar's, Mrs. Orven, + Velma's in to Grandpa's for dinner. Rosemary 25# Left on 1:45 bus - Rabe's met us at Madison. 8:30. Slept there. 85° 1945. Washed and ironed 5 pairs curtains, washed window frames, etc. Summer like. All tired out. 1946. To Alex. R.P.O. station to meet Elsie, coming in on Ches. + O. from Chi. at 8 AM. We went in after lunch to order a new glasses lens, try to see about my car ins., got her ticket to Warm Springs, Ga. Took in nice show at Trans-Lux. Worked on Sig's rug in eve. couldn't read, etc.
