MARCH 23 1942. Sunned white fur rug, etc. A fine day. Planted sweet pea seed (perennial). Had to postpone 4H program. Got Miss Wooton for play practise of "But Then There's Buford." 1943 Finished ironing. Took Mrs. Ray Hambrecht on Red Cross tour up the lake. Got $20. Took Mrs. Wirth to Guild in P.M. To Red Cross workers' mtg. in village hall in eve. 30 there. Mrs. Davies + Judge Evans spoke. 1944. Rained all day! We had very lucky trip. Had car greased at Paul Bros, then unloaded bed, rug + canned goods at Cotton's, in basement. Barkely Bros. can't let us in apt. till Apr 5. Had lunch with Mr. Cotton. Hilda had supper with us at HOTOY. 38° 74° 1945. K. + I drove over to see beautiful pink magnolias in inner patio of Interior Bldgs. + cherry blossoms in their prime, around Tidal Basins. Worked with Mrs. Calloway 11-5 at airport Canteen. Tired. 1946. Stayed home + sewed, etc. I made 10 buttonholes (re-worked) in brown spun rayon dress, put hem in white gabardine blouse. Elsie put new neck + hem in Sig's print chiffon. We did a little stitching at Culbertson's. In eve we went to pipe organ concert at Mormon church. also talk on Andrew Jackson.
