MARCH 31 1942. Awake around four - then overslept. Did big washing. Windy. Wrote R.C., program write-up + wrote letter to Hans - Sent apron + Sig's cushion to Hilda. Heard Hilda's record on Virginia's phonograph - and had first recording of my voice! 1943. Good washday - did old drapes, rug, etc. Also mending, some ironing. Raked part of iris. Mrs. Davis brought me pickles - April shower + rainbow. 1944. Card from Frank at Camp Wheeler, Ga. Signe with day off after 2 wks. night duty + Hilda + I shopped. Got my hat, Hilda's coat + red dress. Helped Hilda on navy dress in her Staughton Hall room. Supper with Hans at all states. Saw Lucia Stucky. Danish lesson. Paul P. came. 1945 Indigestion. Maybe from pecans - Hilda cold worse, so we cancelled on Easter guests. Wrote MTT column, etc. 69° 1946. Up at 6 after good sleep. Typed MTT letter, mailed cards to Circle "C", went to church. Rev. Clarke preached on "Value of a Soul". I had 2 callers to look at furniture. Wrote Hans, etc
