APRIL 1 1942. Did most of the ironing + mending. Wrote Hilda, copied a poem for Jacinta for Easter, etc. 4H gave program second time. Small crowd but took in $8.15. Gave out record books. 1943. Finished ironing, baked bread + cake. Went in for 1:45 date with Dr. Meyer at Wis. general hospital. He gave me thorough exam. 1944. Spent forenoon mending Rahmlow's canvas + mailed it to him. Lunch with Cotton's. Supper with Hans at Hotoy. Wrote cards to papers or change of address, + Wash. letter to MTT. Began crocheting blue trim for Hilda 1945 Up at 5. Drove to WAC barracks for Marie Mercer, then to Jefferson Memorial for sunrise services. To church, so crowded I sat in crown downstairs. Beautiful day. Wistarias beautiful. 59° 1946. Took my car in to have brakes, etc. checked. Still no tire! Paul Pownell stopped on his way to Richmond. Packed encyclopedia, 3 boxes glassware, photos. 2 couples came in eve to look at furniture. Sold rugs, rocker + dresser to Donald Ward's.
