Warmest for 46 years, 79º 1942. Ironed, baked 4 loaves, 100% whole wheat bread, whole wheat cookies, + biscuits. Short nap. Mrs. Daniels came for me + we gave nutrition for defense at Middleton Mothers' Club. Mrs. Cornwell + I gave it in eve at Pheasant Branch. 1943. Not so cold. Washed, took nap went to Middleton. Wrote Pauline. 1944. Showers. Tired from yesterday. Locked myself out from apt.! Rainy! Couldn't find janitor, so climbed in window! Baked oatmeal cookies, shopped, walked to Alex. for mail, but too late to get any. 51º 57º 1945. Drizzly. To church. Helen Meythaler + Harold and his brother rode out with us. Wrote 6 letters + notes. Read in "Copt. from Castile." 1946. Breakfast at Weidemann's. Doris is walking in Madison. Her folks run the house. Kathryn + I drove to 10 So. Orchard. Hilda home in AM. After lunch Signe + I unpacked our car at Wittenberg's + carried a lot up to 3" floor in Madison. Betty Rodgers + I hunted for nylons downtown - no luck. Slept at Wittenberg's. Mrs. Mariam Davis dem. "Rex - air."
