May 7 1942. Cleaned up house, roasted a chicken, then got card Rev. Stanke could not come. Gave nutrition talk at [Garrison?] school to 4 mother's clubs. Won pink pitcher + 2 glasses at Bingo. At Ph. Bv. graduation. 1943. Cleaned some, baked choc. chip cookies, took some to girls. Letter from Hilda her hip is bad from fall on ice. Took Mrs. Rabe to Madison Woman's Club guest day. Prof Riggs of Greece spoke. To Mother's Club card party in eve. 1944. Cooler in eve. Made ice cream, jello, cherry pie. Drove to Meth. church. Met Rev. + Mrs. Clarke. Wrote about town for MTT> Sig came at 4. Packed lunch, took Hilda's end table to her. She, Geo. R., Ellen Story + we picknicked in Rock Creek Park. 77° 1945. K + I sewed. I made rose apron for Beatrice B, overcast seams, etc. in my new blu gabardine, sewed on Danish blouse. Germans sign "Unconditional Surrender." Got 3 V mails from Frank, written Apr 16-22, transferred into Ge Patton's Third Army. 1946. Signe + I did a big washing. She has 3 days off. I had final date with Dr. Muehlmein at . Went to Woman's Club mtg. the Wittenberg women serving. Dr. Jennie Turner gave fine talk on World Federation, need for a common language, much better education. To Rabe's, then walked to Zentner's for supper. Hilda came for me.
