1942. High wind but washed. took Mrs. Hohm to 4H clothing leaders' meeting in Home Ec room in Middleton H.S. with Miss Bloden + Helen Peason gave 2 also. Mrs. Daniels came out for "Comments". Wrote letters. 1943. Cleaned K's room + hung her curtains, dusted hall, aired quilts, etc. Shopped in Middleton, made suet pudding. Foods mtg. 8 girls there in Buss' kithcen. I demonstrated muffins. 82º 1944. Mother's Day. Hans + I walked to church. I wrote to Frank, Whitson's + to MTT. Hilda here for supper + walk to the Potomac, our garden + Potomac Clay Works. She gave me plaid material for couch cover. 57º 80º 1945 Got a "Friend's Mother" card from Arde's Skrenes. Finished up another Danish blouse. Began reading "Boston Adventure" by Jean Stafford. 1946 Ironed, worked on slip, shrinking it. We finished my blue wool blouse. Pauline is working on Signe's pink eyelet + blue linen. I had eyes fitted for spare pair of glasses by Dr. Mark E. Nesbit. Grade Kirk there + had chat.
