June 14 1942. Children's Day. Crowd at church. 60 at S.S. Chilly. Frank started working at Sak's, too. (Sat eve only) Wrote Weidemann's, Hans 1943. Washed rayons, took Davis boys + Mrs. Roberts to Daily vacation Bible school. Taught the older group. Home 11:30. Baked bread, made Frank summer pajamas. Met with foods group with Joyce Meier. They made nut bread. 1944. Cooler; rain in the night. Mrs. Norberg + I to garden for lettuce + spinach. Typed dansk Brev to Elva Pedersen. Drove in then Hans + I ate supper near John Burroughs cabin in Rock Creek park. Showery. Danish lesson. phoned Victoria Allen. Hilda here sewing. 1945. Left Waechter's on 8:30 bus. Waterloo at 11:10 for 5 hr. wait. Wrote Hans + Frank + saw "God is my CO-Pilot". Waited half hr. at "Blairsburg Road" Jct. in chilly wind- so got stiff back. To Dora's about 9:30. Crops very late, corn small. 86° 1946 Good sleep in "my cottage" at Millie's. After breakfast + dishes I typed some letters. I took Gene to Woodland after lunch in her Studebaker. Millie + I to W. to shop. Got plastic apron for her, typewriter ribbon + other supplies. Sent telegram to Wittenberg's to ship my trunk.
