June 16 1942. Headache, Mrs. Mictl picked all day. We did ironing. I canned 5 qt. berries. BUsiness better, but had a dozen quarts to stem + precook. 1943. Didn't sleep after 5. Finished inside of blue rayon dress. Broadcast review of "She's Off to Work". Bought born jersey dress, blud bordered cotton, white hat + shoes. Took Ann Louise MacKenzie "Old Master" pickle fork for wedding gift. GOt plqaue molds at 4H office. Froze some asparagus. Wrote Sig. Shower. 1944. Cleaned up Apt. baked bread. Cut out and made most of red dotted seersuckser pajamas for Hilda. Hans + I translated Thomas Hardy's Pigernes' Jeus. Very hot. 1945. Went with Florence to Alumni Day in Memorial Union. 14 in our class. Cafeteria luncheon- Visited with Flo, Gail, Lillian + H. Dobbin, Mary M. Pride, Amy M. Goss, Marie Rudnick, C.B. Maxe, Mary K. Shearer, + others in Glady Bonner. 87° 1946 Slept 8 hrs. or so. To S.S. at Four Square Church with Millie's at 9:30. Church 10:30 to 12:25! In P.M. Jean took Millie, Paul + I to Davis and to Sacramento. Saw Cal. Ag. College, the Capitol, Sutter's Fort, rice fields, mistletoe etc. Finished reading "House of Exile."
