1942. Canned 4 1/2 qt. beans. Juanita + Marvin here to complete records in AM + C.J., M.M., + Mary [Louise?] eve. Went with Hazel + Mrs. Bishoff to dress revue in P.M Jane played + got red, Eleynor red, + M. Lou white. [illegible] HM house 1943. To bed again after 5:30 breakfast + slept till nearly 8. Didn't do much. Did errands in village - saw Emil [Zintner?]; Marjorie, Janet, + Joyce came up to complete record books. 89° 1944. Hot day for washing + ironing + bread making. In eve, called on Mr + Mrs Elmer [Seversen?] in 1411 1945. Hot day for washing, so rested afterward. Sewed on white shouting blouse for Bobby Bolin. Helped Josephine pick 1/2 bu. beans in eve. Frank is to report back to Camp Grant today after 34 day furlough. 1946 Awake several times. Water muddy. No land till mid - PM. Up 14 miles on River to Shanghai. Saw much shipping. An hour's delay in disembarking. [Mrs?] Price met us 10 UNRRA wives. [Launch?] to 5 mi. away - a crazy ride. Rode in Ford to Embankment Bldg. then finally to Park Hotel with Mrs. [Lund?]. Very tired. Bath + bed.
