1942 Wrote cards to Signe, Doris W. Sent order for Christmas + all-occasion cards - Washed windows, baked bread, painted both outside steps + outside cellar door. Rev. Stanke called. Wrote '15 circle letter. Haus came home from Ithaca NY 1943. Slept till 7:30 - hope this is last time Frank gets up at 5. Painted back doors on outside, and front steps. Picked last of beans, took them to Kiddie Kamp, + some + spinach to locker. Met Frank in Capital Park - he got 2" hand gas stove. Watered. 1944. Had 3 lines of washing. Thru at 11:30. Very hot. Took nap! Ironed. Haus not home till nearly 8 - worked late. Rec'd surprise gift of $5 from T Daniels - for "something frivolous" 96° 1945 Made most of flowered thin dress for Dorothy Bolin. Too hot to be very ambitious. Al + Jo + boys made us a backyard call. 1946. Rain in night, but had blazing sun. Went to PX with Riley sisters, got crackers + 2 jars choc. milk. Class at 10 as usual. Lunch with Rileys Home on 1:30 bus [once?]. Nap. Study. Ball game in the Park with Mrs. Weaver + Joe Sheridan UNRRA 3 - Navy 2. Dinner with Anne + Joe on 2" floor - acrobats. But no more dinners will be served there.
