1942. Canned 7 pt. more corn, part from Chatt's garden. Just Frank + I here most of this week. 1943. Ironed. Took beans to Kiddie Kamp, + sweet peas to Bea Gillen, their nurse: roses + pansies to Mrs. Kirkpatrick, who entertained WSCS. I had devotions. Mrs. Powell talked on Argentina Baked oatmeal cookies 96° 1944 Second hottest day this year here. Baked cookies. Was typing MTT letter when Sig + Sgt. Clays Cooper came in about 5. Supper in front room. 1945. A comfortable day. Slept This straight also an hour or so in P.M. We went to First Church. Barbara Jackson played violin solo. Wrote a lot of letters - finally sent min danske Brev til DDP + Dannevirke. 110° in shade 1946 Still no assurance from Travel Section of getting away. 4 diff, people told me how wonderful a place [Putaho?] is! If only I could get there! Forenoon at Emb. Bldg as usual. Nap. Took Mrs. Weaver to Cathay Hotel for dinner - pedicabs. 3 baths still didn't allay heat. Sick again in eve. Sweat all nite.
