1942. Rev. Stanke's conference Sunday - no S.S. or church. Washed my hair. HOT. Picked big bouquet. Wrote Hans + Hilda + "Comments". 1943. Hans in Madison. I canned 4 1/2 qt. mixed carrots, big limas, + tomatoes + peppers, 3 pt. carrots, 1 1/2 pt. chili sauce, + froze 1 qt. of big limas. Hans dug + I picked up 2 bu. potatoes from 3 late rows. 1944. Wrote Sig. Wilbur + Amanda took us to [Oscar's?]. Oskar took us to Melba's. Beverly + allan fine. Rained. Olga's came took us to Mag. Fair. Frank came 5:30 bus. Saw Pete Jorgensens. Raymond in Ger. prison. Elroy in New Guinea. We went home with Oskar's. 1945. Did big ironing. Sewed as much as I could on Dora's dress. Packed up. We all had supper at Riley's. Marie's husband just back from Italy. 1946 Sun OK for snaps, but too hot for comfort. Got Kodachromes along street. Went with Hans to hospital at 3 for physical checkup by Dr. Teng. Tien Ho Hospital. He can do easy work if careful. Listen to to 50 pieces U.S. Marine band in Victoria Park in eve. Called on Mr. Bolte, 70 Woodrow Wilson St.
