September 22 1942. Big rain in night. Frank had bad stomach pains so had Dr. Allen out- flu. Canned 8 1/2 qt. prunes, ironed, baked brown bread. Sold $5 birthday etc. cards at Guild. Mrs. Koehler talked on birds. 1943. Mended, shelled beans for seed. Hilda had dental date. Read in "The Nile" Ralph Davis is overhauling our car. 64° 75° 1944. Borrowed Mrs. McLaughlin's press + canned 9 pt. tomato juice. Typed my "Landets Mod" inc. "Orkanabler" for Dannevirke. Letter from Sig "Somewhere in India" + Frank in Camp Cooke, Calif. To Luther. Memorial church guild circle No 5. luncheon at Mrs. Davis', Del Roy. Mrs. Hepner spoke. 1945. Cleaned very dirty Venetian blinds in living room and dining room. baked bread + "kolaches", made salad dressing, cleaned up house. Got pkg. Bryo from Kathryn. Another Pacific letter from Frank. Hans sent Hilda's trunk to her in Madison. Shampooed hair-dried in sun. 86.8° 1946 H.A. Wallace asked to resign as Sec of Comm! Hans took snaps of danish group at 9. Spent forenoon at Summer Palace. Mr. Lewis, UNRRA, of Nova Scotia, with us. More pictures. Saw the "Chinese Navy"- a marble "boat". Both of us tired- naps after tiffin. Went to "dansk Samrzer" Spisesal i afternen.
