Saving...
1942 Baked apple pie. April showers. Could get no one to go with me so went alone to 2" Dane Co. Federation of Woman's Clubs in Madison. Gave report as Rural-Urban Dist. Chm. and on our Comm. Recreation project. Signe came out with me for supper. 1943 Awake too early. Did a big ironing. Washed 44 pound honey jars for Frank. Got more U.S.O. drive material and completed my twp. list of solicitors, calling on Mrs. Herman Danck, Henry Arnold and Beulah Bryan. Made 3 calls in my own territory. K home for supper. 1944 Awake 4-6 so didn't get up early. Made ice cream. Hilda came at 10:30 and she and I went to church. She took a snap of us, picked Marigolds in our garden. Read dansk and wrote letters. 1945 73 degrees Hans to D.C. in P.M. Cloudy morning, but turned out to be a wonderful washday. Did 3 sheets, blanket, spread. Mailed Hans' letter to Denmark in Alex and got sweater for Peder. Ripped up K's old light blue coat and cut out dress for Anna. Was "Mrs. James" in Home Nursing Skit at Lee PTA. Heard Rabbi [illegible]. 1946 54, 70 degrees. Washed and mended, started a [Puping?] series for classmate (I hope). In PM we walked up and along Ha Ta Men, stopping at 5 elec. shop and finally got a transformer - In eve used it on movie machine and looked at several Jap films, assisted by [Fks?] Wemmelund and Mosbok and Mr. Lewis. Latter showed us his Chinese scrolls.
