October 28 1942. Did ironing. Took nap. Frank + I shopped in Middleton. Letter from Hilda. Typed Recreation Council minutes. Rain in night. 1943. Ironed baked bread. Took nap, did mending. To Mothers' Club in eve. My 4H girls did their "Gadgets" dance. I got booby prize- box of talcum. 1944. Went to Washington on 9:30 bus. Windy + chilly. Got garnet yarn for afghan to send to Sig, white wool scarf for Christmas for Dora, decor for my old navy hat. Took nap in P.M. Wrote 2 letters, cleaned. 1945 Nice sunny day. Slept till 8. We walked to church, leaving pot roast of veal on gas, turned law. Had to sit on front row. Rev. Clarke back to Alex. from Conference for another yr. We sat out on porch in sun. Wrote Dora + on danske Brev. 32° 66° 1946. Finally moved my belongings to first floor, room 305. vacated by ex-consul ETC Werner. Hans + I walked to hospital about 11. He feels best for a mo. but heart irregular + he must take 1 digitalis each day now. Fru Christensen kom og talte dansk. Brev fro Sig. Mrs. Irey + I shopped for apples.
