November 2 1942 Fairly cold- hung most of washing outside. Cut out green striped wool dress for Sandra Bell from K's old one- CRC in eve- then we got new linoleum from frt. [illegible] 1943. Wrote Sig + A. June Day. Got 3 more workers on U.S>O drive, Mrs. Howard Miner for Gordon + CHarlotte Kessemich for part of the "fringe" also Thelma Grob. Drove to Woman's Cub, took news + R.C + War Chest list + lib. story.. "English program on "Visiting our Allies" series. Wrote '15 letter. 1944. Hans took Kathryn to Delmar to 4 o'clock train (Boyer's car), then went to C.R. to see J. Whitson + Dick Offringa. We slept till 9, when Uncle CHris and Uncle John woke us to bid us goodby! Ehlers' came in at 9:30 + went home in P.M. I got lunch. We all gave grandma purse + gloves for birthday. She, Hans + I at Earl Boyer's for supper. 1945 stitched ends of 3 pr. pillowcases. Pkg. from Velma, with Signe's coat + 2 dresses. I took 1 + 1 of mine to cleaners. To Alex. Mrs. Norberg came at suppeer time, + ate with us. Sewed on white gabardine blouse I cut 2 years or so ago. 1946. I walked to Rasmussen's to tell Lily I had to got to hospital with Hans. Walked from there out on wide street, not too busy, to hospital. Hans had gone to UNRRA, where Mr. Spinx had brot downstairs for him some 450 000 CNC- badly needed by us. Paid up our board. We took a small walk in P.M. Finally had warm radiators in eve. My shoulders ache today from too little heat. Rev. Scratch, back from Mukden, called, also Fru Christensen.
