1942 Signe home all day. Baked bread and 3 pumpkin pies (for Mothers' Club). Finished rug. Made $7.70 in eve at Bingo party for Ph. B. M.C. Mrs. [Shore?] and I called numbers [illegible] 50 prizes - Z was [illegible]. Voted 12 for [illegible]. 1943 Wrote dansk letter to Hans and got one from him. I knew all but 2 words! Shampooed hair. Cleaned stairs, etc. Sent travelog to Wm. Evjue. Daily dansk lesson in Primer. 1944 Grandma and I went to Methodist Church on bus. Baked apricot crisp. Read - Eng and dansk. Hilda out in eve to tell me Lucia can't come for Thanksgiving. 1945 69° 83°. (Should be Nov. 18) Mrs. Story and I went to First Ave. Methodist Church in St. Pete. In P.M. Mr. and Mrs. and we drove to Treasure Island and other islands overlooking Gulf of Mexico. 1946 More sunny weather. Hans and I plan to go by ship to Shanghai as soon as passage can be arranged. Dr. Henke said he could fly, but Dr. Holzer discouraged it. I bought Christmas cards at Clock Store - proprietor served jasmine tea! We wrote about 30, using our bikeshaw pics. I took time picture of Hans. Gladys Everett had lunch with us - got a lot of pics.
