NOVEMBER 24 1942. Small ironing. Baked bread & cake. Took Mrs. Roberts to Guild. at Rev. Stanke's request, I gave devotions. Sold the rummage birdcage! Ordered stationery from (Airo?) MacLean. 1943. Awake from 1 - 3:45 AM. Went to Middleton; Mrs. Olson, Chatt & I purchased chicken, fruit, etc. for Thanksgiving basket for Mrs. Steckelbug. Baked bread, made cranberry relish & jelly. Wrote Hans. K. came home. 4* 13* 1944. Didn't sleep from 3 to 6. Nap from 8:30 - 9:30. Went to bank. Had to give up taking Mother Skott along to airport. Worked at ATC 11-5 with Mrs. White & Mrs. Pryor. Marie Mercer came for a chat. 25* 43* 1945. Washed - and the clothes froze! but dried nicely. I baked bread, partly cleaned the apartment, pressed travel-worn suits, ironed some. Signe's ship, "Gen. Richardson" arrived in New York harbor. Also got letter from her mailed in Port Said Nov. 15. 1946. A beautiful day. Washed underwear, etc. Wrote '15 circle letter, note to Camille, [first?] Christmas notes, packed more. Mr. Spinx & Miss Graves biked here at noon, told us to go to (illegible) tomorrow. Gave her letters & movie film to mail. Lily Rasmussen here an hour. I went to Methodist compound (finally!) visited with Rev & Mrs. Perry Hanson.
