1942. 51 in S.S. Sunny PM. Read. Wrote Hilda + Dora. Typed book review of "Everyday Nursing in the Everyday Home" in eve. Heard Sen. Norris on air. 1943. Walked to Middleton, from where I rode to Tennimore with Mrs. C.W. Vaughn + Mrs. Martiny to WSCS board mtg. Saw movie "The Book of Tomorrow" - very fine. 1944. Cut 2 outing flannel nightshirts for Hans + made most of 1. Wrote some dansk. Grandma finished Frank's mittens. 32º 42º 1945. Ironed. Signe + I attended a Federal Extension Outlook Mtg. in P.M. on Rural Health, etc. Rainy, Hans and I went out to Frank Bele's for dinner. Read bedtime stories to Linda Lou + "Skipper". 1946 Mailed air letter to Signe, then walked on Nanking Road quite a ways; took ricsha to 11 Edinburgh Road - McTyeire High School, where Miss Li showed me around until K.T. Woo was free from her class. Had lunch in Miss Woo's room. Went to chapel with her. Met Miss Heneh, the principal, who seemed interested in my application to teach Home Ec! Tea with 4 Am. teachers. Home, 6:20.
